Two measurement stays a year give us depth. The K9 Collar gives us continuity, heart rate, variability, sleeping respiratory rate, gait symmetry, sleep and heat load, read every night and carried to your wrist on the Apple Watch you already wear.

Respiratory · BREATH

Sleeping respiratory rate

The single most useful home number in canine medicine. Counted automatically every night instead of once a month by hand, it detects fluid on the chest days before a cough appears.

  • -A sustained rise above 30 breaths a minute while asleep.

The collar is the sensor; your Apple Watch and iPhone are the interface. Nothing asks you to open a dashboard to find out whether your dog had a bad night.

On the wrist

The K9 companion app puts a live complication on your Apple Watch face: last night's respiratory rate, today's activity against target, and a coloured dot when a signal has drifted.

Walks, both ends

Start a walk on the watch and the collar pairs to it directly, pace, hills, off-lead time and heat exposure are recorded for the dog while your own workout keeps recording for you.

Haptic nudges

A tap on the wrist when a medication window opens, when the day's heat index makes a midday walk unwise, or when the collar has been off the dog longer than four hours.

Your health app

With your permission, the dog's daily summary writes into your iPhone health record alongside your own, because the two of you share almost every walk.

The hardware.

Sensor module

Optical pulse and HRV, three-axis accelerometer and gyroscope, contact thermistor, barometric altimeter and GPS, in a 22 g brushed steel housing that sits under the throat.

Band

Woven olive webbing in five sizes, machine-washable, with a steel quick-release and a second D-ring so the collar never has to come off for a walk.

Endurance

Fourteen days of continuous sensing per charge, IP68 to two metres for swimmers and hydrotherapy, and a magnetic dock that keeps overnight coverage intact.

Coat calibration

Each collar is calibrated at the baseline stay against force-plate gait, echo and an in-clinic respiratory count, so the readings are anchored to your own dog rather than a breed average.

    Drift against your dog's own baseline opens a case with the clinical team instead of a push notification you have to interpret.

    Six months of collar data sits beside the panels at re-measure, and the protocol changes on evidence.

Collar data is your dog's record. It is used to run the program and reviewed in de-identified form with our thought-leadership partner at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine; it is never sold. A wearable is a monitoring tool, not a diagnosis, every escalation is read by a licensed clinician before it reaches you.
