Manifesto
More good years, and more dog inside them.
Veterinary medicine is superb at rescue and still improvising at prevention. K9 Longevity exists to close that gap, one animal at a time.
01
A dog's year is our seven
Twelve months between examinations skips most of a dog's biological decade. Measurement has to move at the speed the animal ages.
02
Healthspan before lifespan
The goal is not a number on a certificate. It is stairs taken without hesitation, recall at fourteen, appetite on a cold morning.
03
Whole dog, not presenting complaint
A limp is rarely only a joint. Eleven systems share one bloodstream, one night's sleep and one body-condition score.
04
Normal is not optimal
Reference ranges describe the average patient. We track each dog against their own baseline and their breed's known trajectory.
05
Silence is data
Renal reserve, valve change and cognitive drift all progress quietly. Screening is how we hear them early.
06
The owner is part of the protocol
Flooring, feeding windows, walk intensity and sleep environment do more daily work than any prescription.
07
Evidence before enthusiasm
Nothing enters a protocol on anecdote. Our reading is done alongside Penn Vet scholarship and revised when it changes.
08
Comfort is clinical
A calm dog gives truer measurements. Hospitality is not decoration around medicine; it is part of the instrument.
09
Continuity beats intensity
One heroic intervention rarely outperforms a decade of small corrections applied without a gap, including while you travel.
10
Ageing is measurable, therefore manageable
If we can score a system, we can watch its slope. If we can watch its slope, we can try to change it.
