Recovery
The weeks after surgery decide the next five years.
Most long-term lameness we see was written during an unstructured recovery. Ours is written down, supervised and re-measured before release.
Days 0–3 · Protect
Multimodal analgesia set in advance, non-slip flooring, short lead-only toileting, wound and appetite checks logged twice daily.
Days 4–14 · Restore
Passive range of motion, cold and heat on schedule, five-minute lead walks building by minutes rather than by mood.
Weeks 3–6 · Rebuild
Hydrotherapy, cavaletti and sit-to-stand work to bring the operated limb back into load without letting the good side compensate.
Weeks 7–12 · Return
Force-plate gait re-measure decides the release back to off-lead running, hills and any sport, never the calendar alone.
Supervised recovery residency
For crate-averse or high-drive dogs, recovery can run at the hotel with overnight staffing and daily physiotherapy.
